That’s exactly what my coffee table is, built from a wheel from Robert Kubica’s debut Formula 1 car for BMW Sauber.
From the racetrack to the living room
It all started with a dream. A dream to build my own race car, inspired by an F1 car. The basis for the project was a classic Volkswagen Golf mk1, which gradually transformed into a thoroughbred machine.
During the build, I came across a unique opportunity – a wheel from Kubica’s car. I didn’t hesitate for a moment. I knew it was a special treasure that I had to have.
The wheel initially served as inspiration and a reference point during the build. But over time, a new idea emerged. The idea of creating a piece of furniture that would combine automotive passion with functionality and design.
A table with a soul
After a few hours of work and a bit of creativity, the wheel was transformed into a unique coffee table. The tempered glass top perfectly complements the gray magnesium wheel. The whole creates a coherent and elegant look.
The table is a real treat for any motorsport fan. It attracts attention and arouses the curiosity of guests. It is not only a practical piece of furniture, but also a unique memento that reminds me of my dreams come true and my passion for motorsport.
