Everyone wants to drive faster.
The most frequently swapped engines in the VW Golf mk1 are the 2.0 16v, the KR, ADL, ABF or 1.8T designations, but sometimes 4 cylinders are not enough. Fortunately, Volkswagen has a wide range of engines, including 5-cylinder ones with compact dimensions. What’s more, with a beautiful sound.
Swapping the engine for 5-cylinder units with AQN, AGZ, AZX or AJA designations is gaining popularity. Unfortunately, many of the available engine mounts designed for the mk1 have been poorly designed, making them impossible to use.
24rs has explored the topic and found the reasons for this. As a result of this work, engine mounts free from typical defects were created, perfectly matching VW Golf mk1, Scirocco mk1/2, Jetta mk1, Caddy mk1 cars.
Mount is used to swap on following 115-170ps engine codes:
AQN, AGZ, AZX, AJA
Bracket require OE 171 199 214 F / 171 199 214 G bush.
